How to set up from start to finish.
Getting started
Setup takes about ten minutes. You need access to your domain settings (where you bought your web address) or the ability to upload a file to your site.
1. Sign up
Pick a plan on the pricing section and press Start 3-day free trial. Enter your name, email and website, and agree to the Terms. Your trial starts right away. Cancel during the 3 days and you pay nothing. There are no refunds after the trial.
2. Prove you own the site
We never watch a site until you prove it is yours. We email you a short code. Use one of these two ways:
- DNS code: In your domain settings, add a TXT record with the code we send you. It can take up to an hour to show up.
- File: Upload the small text file we send to the main folder of your site, so it opens at yoursite.com/untitled-security-verify.txt.
Once we see the code or file, we email you and monitoring starts.
3. Connect a limited key
For Safe Page and Attack Blocking we need a limited key from your host or firewall. Create a key that can only turn on maintenance mode and manage blocked addresses. Do not give us a full access key and never send us your password. You can delete the key any time to cut off our access.
What each alert means
- Site down: your site did not load from two places in a row.
- Slow site: pages are taking much longer than normal to load.
- Page changed: new scripts, links or text appeared that you did not mark as expected.
- Certificate expiring or broken: the lock icon will soon stop working or already has.
- On a hacked-site list: a browser or search engine list now flags your site.
- Attack blocked: we blocked a visitor trying to break in. Usually no action needed.
- Safe Page on: visitors now see a maintenance page while the problem is fixed.
